I did not see anything like this in the Tumultuous Sixties. I suspect the students lack ideological clarity. Reckless actions will only turn off the all important American public and exhaust the social conscience emotions of the protesting students.. The less dramatic is often the more effective way to build a MASS MOVEMENT for fundamental social change. Any impulse to work within Joe Biden's WOKE WARRIOR Democratic Party is self-defeating. The mainstream news media keeps trying to revive the corpse of the Joe Biden presidency -endlessly suggesting that conservative Republican populist Donald Trump and working class Christian " deplorables " are the root of all evil in " OUR democracy ". Whatever still passes for " OUR democracy " would benefit tremendously ( as would the cause of peaceful , CIVILIZED social transformation ) by the creation of a major third party, INDEPENDENT above all of the American plutocracy . It could resemble the British Labor Party but less stuffy and compromised, more inclusive of ALL tendencies on the Left. Within this party a recognized , democratically supported governing ELITE will emerge( somewhat like the traditional conception of a " vanguard ") . To be sure , the dregs of society , what Marx called the " lumpenproletariat ," are forever useless for challenging the CLASS basis for capitalism. The CRIMINAL MIND is not a revolutionary force. Nor is CRIMINAL behavior ! .
