No democratic socialist shaped by the Marxist view of CLASS STRUGGLE- even in " OUR democracy "- will " rejoice " over any ruling capitalist class vetted , newly appointed Supreme Court Judge. These miracles of DNC based " identity politics " will thrill only the most vacuous " liberal " ( increasingly illiberal ) minds. As an independent democratic socialist I still think that the orthodox Marxist view of THE LAW in capitalist America is the most cogent .
Hardly a single lawyer or judge -on any level - in the United States thinks outside the box of capitalist PRIVATE PROPERTY RIGHTS . These sacrosanct rights are axiomatic in every law in the law books. THE LAW in general can not rise above the reality of CLASS STRUGGLE in capitalist society. Every year Ivy League law schools , like Harvard , Yale, Columbia , mass produce professional enemies of the working class.
No Harvard Law School graduate " legal genius " will ever square the circle on PRIVATE PROPERTY rights. In no way will real SOCIALISM come into existence by a craven, philistine respect for bourgeois LAW. Even the most " progressive " Supreme Court judge is screened- at the very beginning of his or her legal career - by agents of the American plutocracy for hostility to " crackpot " SOCIALIST views. As certainly ALL radio talk show " celebrity " babblers . In Rhode Island we have our own perennial radio talk show blowhards who dare not cross the line of " respectable " debate. They imagine that the broadcasting company has given them a FREE THINKER license ( they are just so SMART and have that X-factor called PERSONALITY - which most of us lack . Don't you wish YOU had PERSONALITY ? ) But just step outside the box, Gene , Matt, Tara , Dan ( @ 630WPRO ) As Karl Marx said long ago : " the ruling ideas are the ideas of the ruling class ". Show up to the studio one Election week morning with a VOTE SOCIALIST button and see how quick you are escorted out the Door of Oblivion .
