These protests are misguided by DEEP STATE big lies : Ordinary working class Americans do not plan or start wars. American imperialism in control of NATO is fanning the flames of nuclear World War III with Russia. Anybody who knows anything about American history -and not a born reactionary or a lackey of the military caste or a servant of the Eisenhower feared military industrial complex- knows that ever since 1848 ( the conquest of Mexican territory ) American foreign policy is never about protecting SOVEREIGN nations, defending FREEDOM on all continents. I doubt very much if ordinary working class Ukrainians were longing for a dangerous , foolish alliance with effete , moribund , rotting NATO . American imperialism intervenes -and PROVOKES - in the Ukraine-Russia conflict not just with advanced weapons but with CANT words and phrases , Wilsonian blather that was just as stale and FALSE in 1917 - in that " war to make the world safe for democracy " -as it is today in April 2022. A mainstream news media endorsed BIG LIE got us into previous dirty wars . And this Russia-Ukraine war is just one more . Or perhaps really a " war to end all wars ". A revived anti-war movement in the United States will revive the anti-imperialist themes of past anti-war movements - not offer brainless cheerleading for the wrong side .
