Re-reading Leon Trotsky's " The Revolution Betrayed "

I re-read much of Trotsky's book just last night . Do writers with any intellectual integrity still accept vacuous , bourgeois explanations for the collapse of " communism " in Russia ? Trotsky's view is that of a passionate Marxist revolutionary - right to the end when a Stalinist agent penetrated his skull and genius brain with a pick ax. Can a new political revolution revive " socialism " in POST-COMUNIST Russia ? Just WHO was in a position to become a rich capitalist AFTER the fall of the Soviet Union ? Trotsky is still a lucid guide to understanding what happened in Russia after 1917 and long after his death some thirty years ago . Image: The Revolution Betrayed: Trotsky, Leon, Eastman, Max ...
