The FOR PROFIT health care system in the United States is making residence in almost any nursing home in Rhode Island a nightmare for senior citizens with NO EXIT prospects. Health Dept. inspectors visit these hells with eyes that do not see and ears that do not hear. And curiously, while being horrendously understaffed, they never deduct this NON-SERVICE from any Medicare or Medicaid bill . A thirsty old woman cannot even get a glass of cold water or ginger ale with ice at 1:00 AM . Will she even get a shower this week ? ( SHE told me all about it. SHE was one of the lucky ones .SHE got out ! But the capitalist owners of this nursing home are doing just fine, thank you . Even NON-PROFIT management are doing just fine , thank you.
