Good insights here. But would the American " public " approve a coup d'état ? That would be frightening too -like winking at fascism .
Would not a Lenin find a way to take advantage of this split in the ruling class ? Ruling class officials calling ruling class opponents " criminals " again and again can only culminate in scenes right out of THE END of the Roman Republic: " Et tu , Brute ! "
The Roman Republic was at last incompatible with Empire. Soon no bread but plenty of circus for the American working class.
