Reading " Bertrand Russell's America " a while back I learned that the famous British philosopher had sent a number of letters on the use of chemical warfare( to the New York Times) - a crime against humanity - on the Vietnamese people. The use of napalm is well documented. Today American war veterans still suffer terribly from the effects of " agent orange "

Russell's letters were not printed, heavily edited, or ignored - or " refuted " by sneering New York Times' editor notes.
Are there any prominent intellectuals around today with his humanity and social conscience ( outside SOCIALIST organizations ) ?
Anyone comparable to Albert Einstein, Linus Pauling , Robert Oppenheimer- or more recent years Carl Sagan and Isaac Asimov ?
The anti-war movement has no collective VOICE . The horror !
