If you want to talk about mere flaws in electoral process in the USA ,
you can begin with the Electoral College. PEOPLE constitute the basis
of any real " democracy ". But as a matter of fact both the Democrats
and the Republicans fear the populist principle of MAJORITY RULE.
In Rhode Island, for example,the " liberal " Democrats discouraged a
referendum on gay marriage. I have no qualms about any civil contract ,
but I reject the idea of a self-appointed moral elite- usually with
ruling class ties.
If the Democrats had campaigned against the
Electoral College, Hillary Clinton would be president of the United
States today.
But as it stands President Donald Trump is the LEGITIMATE
president of the United States. Any democratic socialist will at least
respect reality- while struggling to change it in any reasonable or
necessary way.
The American political system is definitely rigged against third parties - on the Left or on the Right.
