A warning to some dogmatic socialists : Isaac Asimov was right about the population explosion
I commend the World Socialist Web Site for making this " science news " front page worthy. I always associated talk of " decrease the surplus population " with the Charles Dickens character " Scrooge ". But decades ago science writer Isaac Asimov alerted me to the dismal truth of exponential growth. It is NOT sustainable.
But only a socialist world government can control these modern means of production and destruction, and make sure that necessary social change does not let the majority of innocent human beings die like rats.
Was that OK with the Rev. Malthus ? Yes, indeed, the Industrial Revolution had a plan with a heart. I recently read a horrible chapter in Engels' book " Condition of the Working Class In England ". It reminded me of Kennedy Plaza in downtown Providence today.
