This " Ron " wonders ( Genial Gene reminded " Ron " on air to " take my meds " ) listening to Genial Gene Valicenti @ 630WPRO TALK RADIO , and also listening to the other Talk Radio stars , Tara, Matt, Dan , this " Ron " wonders if it is finally time for our rather deplorable " Cancel Culture " to cancel ubiquitous Talk Radio. Such Ideas & Opinions that talk radio celebs express on air are invariably the filtered " respectable " opinions of the American petty bourgeoisie. These talk shows are run rather autocratically and , in fact, serve to CANCEL REAL AMERICAN PUBLIC OPINION . What we really get is mostly the Ideas & Opinions of the American RULING CLASS as perceived by the job nervous , faithful PATRIOTIC petty bourgeoisie. These talk radio celebs are mostly " NICE PEOPLE " ( by the standards of a famous Bertrand Russell essay ) but they are invariably out of touch with " The Other America " : the working class , the lower middle class , the poor , the outcasts , and the homeless. This week Genial Gene blocked my text messages to station phone 438-9776 . And for a record , he said, 72 hours. One of my last texts ( which would not have been read on the air anyway read : " Talk radio celebs do not realize how much daily slobbering over sponsors undermines their credibility as HUMAN beings ". Genial Gene, in particular ,very much fits in to our capitalist " Culture of Narcissism ". Toward the end of last year his listeners , his beloved " seaguls "- in contrast to " Ridiculous Ron - the pigeon " - were requested to pay very close attention to Genial Gene's WISH LIST for Christmas ( which included items like a gold watch ) . Perhaps soon the station owners will make Genial Gene a retirement offer he can't refuse. But in general time to cancel ubiquitous , EFFETE TALK RADIO in " OUR democracy "
