Social media CEOs grilled about bias, misinformation and censorship
I have been using FACEBOOK for some time now with some 5000 ( maximum ) FRIENDS . As a democratic socialist it is obvious to me that the RULING CLASS is not nearly as tolerant of FREE SPEECH as the long tradition itself . Recently I was blocked ( permanently ? ) on FACEBOOK . What IDEAS & OPINIONS does the ruling class find odious ? Look back to the McCarthy era in the United States. Was " OUR democracy " alarmed by the clear lack of democracy in the old Soviet Union or was it more alarmed by radical anti-capitalist PRIVATE PROPERTY rights ? Not dictatorship but SOCIALISM was anathema to them.
