* Donald Plante Jr., 22, of Calla, Fla., was charged with domestic assault after he allegedly beat his mother, Diane Plante, 44, of 298 Washington Ave., about 1:25 a.m. Tuesday, police said. Donald Plante also was wanted on warrants charging him with threatening phone calls and malicious mischief.
*Jeremiah J. Plante, 22, of 298 Washington Ave., Providence, was placed on probation for one year after pleading no contest to a University of Rhode Island police charge of resisting arrest. A charge of disorderly conduct was filed for one year, which means it will be expunged from his record if there are no further arrests during that time.
