Here is the real tragedy about mental health care - and the lack of it - in capitalist society . So called mental health therapy is delivered by mental health counselors or professional psychiatrists who have been professionally brainwashed to accept the root of evil here- the capitalist system - as the NORM , as befitting " human nature " , and for all time .
HISTORY ended for American psychiatry long ago. Freud too was very thoughtful but still conservative here. Read his " Civilization and Its Discontents ".
A recent book exposing the corruption of psychiatry as a profession says that good doctors no longer SEE the human soul; they just push more and more DANGEROUS drugs on the mentally disturbed.
I still love at least the title of Erich Fromm's book : " The Sane Society ". The profession ignored Fromm's insights ( even his " The Art of Loving " ).
