Inspired from youth by Albert Camus' sense of the Absurd, I try to be a voice for REASON in the growing darkness and moral insanity of global capitalism .

Something to be said for the voluntary poverty of old surviving Catholic monasteries
Thanks for your intelligent comment. " Materialism " is a tricky word . I was pleased to see Lenin's rather obscure book " Materialism and Empirio Criticism " available ( for 5 dollars )at a local used book store a few days ago.
In Christian moral philosophy " materialism " has very negative connotations -: greed , vanity, blind ambition, social status snobbery, the very stuff of the " Culture of Narcissism ".
I appreciate the science in Lenin's " materialism ". But I also respect the voluntary poverty of surviving Catholic monasteries and the SIMPLE LIFE advocated by Henry Thoreau.
If you want little and own virtually NOTHING , the " materialistic " capitalistic world might then rightly despise you for hiding your corruption . That " Fall " , you know .
