There are MILLIONS of individuals in the world in agreement with the SOCIALIST vision of humanity's only possible future- unless it is H.G. Wells' " Time Machine " vision where economic division has degenerated into a biological separation into different species or sub-species ( a matter of centuries ? ) .
No isolated, squabbling socialist " vanguard " or propaganda organizations can LEAD a mass movement against rotting capitalism. " Democracy " opposed to socialism is hardly democratic. " Socialism " opposed to democracy, to majority rule, is not socialism.
No mass movement is possible which shuts out religious people of every faith. Official " atheism " was the biggest mistake of old Soviet Union.
That is what I think is blocking a " socialist " mass movement. " The Society of the Godless " just lacks mass appeal.
I suspect the American ruling class is already quite " godless " . They will USE the misguided Christian Right in any fascist movement.
But what is " reactionary " about the love and compassion preached in the New Testament ?
