Only illiterates will fail to see that the REAL story in
today's newspapers is : Desperation in Russia . How much more important
than our Monagate !

Unpaid for months,Russia's once proud army is " grubbing for
potatoes... SELLING their blood " .
Soldiers are often asked to give their life blood for their
country, But what a disgrace to SELL it because of hunger !
There is greater danger of this vast -nuclear armed - country
going crazy FASCIST than going stupidly back to Stalinism .
For the present the situation in the military can be described
as Stalingrad without Stalin .
Can the old FREE WORLD coalition help the Russian army ? It
might touch their hearts to be supplied with food reserved for our
own military. How much surplus can we afford ?
After helping Russia out with a dramatic " Berlin airlift "
type gesture, it will be easier for our military to get more funding
from Congress for its own needs .
If we do not help them, we will - to paraphrase a cruel Russian
army officer - soon find out " what the real WORLD is like ".
Starving bitter Russian soldiers demand a little more attention
than silly White House sex scandals .
