I infer from your editorial this morning "The judicious Henry
Hyde " that - like many major newspapers - you are nonplussed by the
polls showing continued strong support for President Clinton's job
performance. Again and again the press hints at possible " serious
crimes ". As if the American public were completely stupid !
These " serious crimes " never seem to be much more than understandable
lying connected to a NON-CRIME - a foolish extra-marital affair.
Henry Hyde was indeed " judicious " about hiding his own sleazy
background from his constituents . Imagine not acknowledging your own
son !
Just about everybody in prison in this country understand that
they belong to a social class that is BENEATH THE LAW !
The average American voter - more often than not - has a sixth
sense for HUMBUG. And Henry Hyde and Ken Starr - and many Republican
editors ( when they don't agree with me ! ) - are world class HUMBUGS .
