What emboldens Israel in its daily crimes against humanity in the Middle East is the nearly undivided support its gets here in the USA from Democratic and Republican politicians like our own neo-con Democratic Congressman and cheer leader for the New McCarthyism David Cicilline .
When running for re-election in Rhode Island Mr. Cicilline - an openly gay politician who wallows in vulgar " identity politics " - always pays unctuous homage to " our special relationship with Israel ".
When talking about Putin and Russia David Cicilline sounds as if he were a diligent student of the Old Nixon of the1950s who specialized in " Red hunting " .
But " OUR democracy "-which includes the venerable if moribund " Providence Journal "- protects Cicilline in Rhode Island. He is likely to get re-elected. As are all other corrupt and seedy " friends of Israel " here.
