Almost never are these ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE killer cops brought to justice. Race is certainly a factor in many cop killings. But the best EXPLANATION goes back to Lenin's " State and Revolution " : so in essence THE STATE is a body of armed thugs organized for the protection of capitalist private property .
All the institutionalized pillars of PROPERTY want and need these armed brutes to have a license to kill. Prosecuting even a few of them for crossing some invisible line of police state " professionalism " might demoralize the cop brotherhood , " The Thin Blue Line ".
Nobody has to tell me that " cops are human ". My mother's father was a cop in the South Providence of the Depression Era. He was nicknamed " Red " for his hair not his politics. As an old man he told me : " You will never get a dry bone from those Republicans ". He did not live long enough to size up the New Democrats - a long way from FDR and the New Deal.
From " liberal " Democratic governor Gina Raimondo the elderly poor, the working class poor , the disabled get only CONTEMPT. Nothing connected to state services works in a Rhode Island absolutely dominated by " liberal " Democrats.
Just the other day local TV news stood by a woman confined to a wheel chair in need of R.I RIDE for urgent kidney dialysis . The RIDE was 75 minutes late - and her dialysis was dangerously cut short.
The office of the governor said coldly : " We investigate all complaints ". "All 75, 000 of them ? " the local radio news team wondered.
