Basic socialist principle : the GROUP is always superior to the individual

The individual is always weaker than the group but also often as strong as the group. 
An individual can be corrupted or bribed or confused or deceived ( or grow " senile " ! ) 

. The group ( the socialist party or organization ) survives individual weakness and learns from its mistakes - even after a century or two .

Albert Einstein was no political leader but he was a socialist to the end of his life. He said that any individual life not devoted to " society " is a wasted life. His essay " Why Socialism " is still very influential.
