Here is the political problem even for die hard free thinkers who are also democratic socialists : The majority of people on this planet have profound religious instincts-even proud " intellectuals ".You do not get a hearing from these people by mocking the very meaning of Life for them.
I think the Old Baltimore Catechism got it right : " Who made me ? "
Then it says : " God made me to know Him, love Him, serve Him in this world... " The skeptical mind will smirk but early moral training can prevent juvenile delinquency and brainless law breaking as adults. And predispose kids to want a kinder, saner world.
