As an old pre-Vatican II Catholic I do not discount the " Second Coming of Christ " !

As a democratic socialist it does seem to me that the so called " LEFT " in the USA -as defined by both " progressive " , WOKE Democrats and their conservative Republican antagonists - is a greater threat to " OUR democracy " , to the FREE SPEECH , FREE THOUGHT tradition of Western Civilization - posing a greater threat of " IT CAN"T HAPPEN HERE " fascism. An independence democratic socialist such as myself is quite beneath the mainstream news media's radar when searching and identifying the " progressive " LEFT in the USA. In no way does traditional or unorthodox Marxism shape the Bernie Sanders wing of the Democratic Party - which is now connected to DEEP STATE , the Pentagon War Crimes Machine, and the infernal Eisenhower cited " military industrial complex ". My only hope for " progressive " change - if not quite democratic socialism - is the formation of a civilization respecting mass party of the American working class , an American Labor Party - completely independent of the American ruling class plutocracy. In the absence of extremely dramatic developments an American Labor Party might take years to organize and to become a major force in " OUR democracy " . But the present illiberal liberal Democratic Party is hopeless for really " progressive " social and economic change. Equally HOPELESS are whatever is left of so called Marxist vanguard parties around the world - which invariably degenerate into bizarre personality cults with no roots in the working class- indeed resembling the notorious " Church of Scientology " in mass producing " Clears " but not much else. As an old pre-Vatican II Catholic I do not discount the " Second Coming of Christ " !
