As a long time independent democratic socialist - not in the Trump fan club- I think it is ludicrous that WOKE " progressive " , " liberal " Democrats are now slobbering over the FBI as the great pillar of " OUR democracy " . Have they forgotten the McCarthy Era of I.F. Stone's " Haunted Fifties " ? In past years the Democratic Party - the greater threat of " IT CAN'T HAPPEN HERE " fascism than the conservative Republicans - has promoted the HATE RUSSIA, New McCarthyism. Presently they are zealous at censoring the anti-war views of pacifist CHRISTIANS on the Ukraine -Russia conflict. For years now the " liberal " Democrats -betraying fundamental LIBERAL principles - have scorned the FREE SPEECH, FREE THOUGHT tradition of Western Civilization. And have replaced LOVE and FORGIVENESS with Old Testament wrath - and are excellent purveyors of HATE themselves.
