Almost ALL Americans love the spectacles of sports - baseball , football, soccer, hockey , tennis . The glorious Olympics . But no rational democratic socialist society would ever make instant millionaires out of promising star athletes. A rational SOCIALIST society would demand a rational distribution of wealth according a necessary division of labor . To be sure , it would not make intellectual athletes , the nerdy stars of Academia instant economic elite. Nobody every says in the mainstream ( capitalist ) news media that over night millionaire athletes are a mockery of social sanity ? Year ago Karl Marx's LABOR THEORY OF VALUE enlightened me on FAIR wages . FAIR wages based on daily exploitation of working class people . Above all the people of property need masses of people without it . The people who buy human labor power are not EQUAL to the people who must sell it - whatever the words of the venerable American Constitution. Today most working class people cannot even afford an afternoon seat in a professional baseball or football stadium. And don't suggest " Tennis " to a blue collar worker.
