A shabby , paltry " Catholic " ( ? ) miracle story

I first heard of this " miracle " report on 630WPRO ( Providence , Rhode Island ) talk radio this morning . Coming from a Catholic family background myself I am hardly cynical of all " miracle " stories. But I also have great respect for LAW & ORDER in Nature as discovered by modern science. According to astrophysicists the greatest SOMETHING FROM NOTHING " miracle " was the BIG BANG , the universe itself . If it was the God of Christianity that made this happen , what else is possible ? Nevertheless I smell a charlatan hoax here. With all the hunger and human misery on the planet today this strikes me a very shabby, paltry " miracle " . Why not multiply our " daily bread " in those long , depressing BREAD ( or CHEESE ) lines ? Recall the Gospel story- fact or fiction - where Good Jesus fed really hungry people. If it was a charlatan's trick, it was at least that of a COMPASSIONATE charlatan- not a shallow publicity seeker . If anything should be investigated first, it should be the muddle headed priest who wasted no time in reporting this " miracle ". What is left the Old Catholic Church ( pre-Vatican II ) must protect its dignity and gravitas. The MYSTIQUE of the pre-Vatican II Catholic Church has been lost . The 1917 " Miracle of Fatima " had many witnesses , for example. But having a skeptical mind is hardly a mortal sin .
