Whose words make sense here ? President Obama is right to think that
the Donald Trump political circus is a product , in the final analysis,
of the ideology and the rhetoric of the GOP establishment ever since his
election in 2008.
It is hypocritical for the GOP establishment to suddenly discover a rotten egg in its midst. Trump says he represents a lot of angry people. True enough. Bernie Sanders can say that he too represents a lot of young and alienated Americans - with a more cerebral anger.
Oddly enough, Trump out Sanders Sanders when he said that it is economic misery behind the rage of the anti-Trump protesters.
Bernie Sanders should not encourage his supporters to even " protest " a Trump rally. For the suppressed Left free speech is always a struggle.
Any political rally is just mass manifestation of " free speech ". No " democratic socialist " should want to shut that down.
If race becomes the big issue in 2016, I can see Bernie Sanders-not likely to get the nomination- telling his supporters to vote for Hillary- the great friend of all " progressive " causes- just more pragmatic than " socialist " Bernie. End of his " political revolution ".
