No Bernie Sanders supporter- with any grasp of " democratic socialism
" - would get involved in disrupting a Donald Trump " love-in ",
campaign rally.
For the political Left " free speech " in a capitalist
society is always very problematic. So it would be self-destructive to
interfere with anybody's free speech right.
No intelligent socialist
would wear a " Stop Hate, Stop Trump " T -shirt . Just forget every
serious issue- like unacceptable economic inequality, environmental
destruction, criminal imperialist wars- and seek out and STOP every
branded " hater " in our midst ?
Trump is not Hitler. A
whole reactionary social class was implicated in the rise of Hitler and
Nazi Germany.
By over-vilifying Donald Trump the " liberal " -often
enough -" illiberal " Left makes the other presidential candidates look
benign and " rational ". But then how do you explain the nightmare of
America in the first 15 years of the new millennium ?
Can
any honest liberal journalist associate Hillary Clinton or the Bush
family prominence with " more love and kindness "?
To be sure, Hurricane Katrina showed the big heart of " compassionate conservatism "
