I am a citizen of the United States who just discovered WATCHING AMERICA a while back. How refreshing to see the world from an astute European perspective.

I am a registered Democrat (with a democratic Socialist ideal) here in Rhode Island, the state with highest unemployment in the nation. We just elected our first woman governor, Democrat Gina Raimondo. This is just one example of the futility and impotence of the Neo-Democrat mania for "political correctness". What difference does the New Boss make– male, female, gay, straight, bisexual, white, black, Asian, Latino, Catholic, Jew, Protestant, atheist, agnostic, if they are all unquestioning TRUE BELIEVERS in so called Free Market Capitalism? Did the collapse of the old Soviet Union almost a generation ago validate the new Robber Baron Capitalism? Should the democratic Socialist perspective have died with Stalinism ? Has History ended ?

I never voted for President Obama back in 2008 because I could see him as a talented and charismatic Chicago politician puffed up by our "Power Elite" as a front for their Great Recession crisis management. Very strange indeed that rich American celebrities see him as a sinister Marxist, trained by one Saul Alinsky. Singer Pat Boone ( remember him and his racist song "Speedy Gonzales"?  ) insists that Obama is a Marxist because he does not want anybody to get rich!

In truth, the Neo-Democrat president makes New Deal FDR look like a flaming Bolshevik. And he finally earns his Nobel Peace Prize by bringing more war misery to the poor people of Iraq.

No wonder we Americans are depressed. Now back to the Paxil voice of TV newsman Brien Williams.
