As an INDEPENDENT democratic socialist I find it extremely important to respect the moral conquests of traditional liberalism . Sad to see the Left in general ( and so many pretentious " socialist vanguard " parties often degenerating into bizarre personality cults) abandon the FREE SPEECH , FREE THOUGHT tradition of Western Civilization and demonize as " haters " millions of the world's religious faithful , Catholics , Protestants , Muslims , Orthodox Jews. What type of socialist EQUALITY party would marginalize half the human race ? Too many VANGUARD parties contain the seeds of very hateful totalitarianism , of Orwellian BIG BROTHERISM . 5
