As a longtime independent democratic socialist I see that what is really going on in " OUR democracy " is a profound crisis of the TWO PARTY STSTEM. What happened on January 6 , 2021 was a political BRAWL within the American capitalist ruling class. It is ridiculous to accuse former president Donald Trump and his immense following ( Trump already victorious in in Idaho caucus and New Hampshire primary ) of subverting the Constitution of the United States. There is not a " JUST JUDGE " in the United States who is above party politics. As Karl Marx said years ago THE LAW is the law of the ruling class; the ruling ideas are the ideas of the ruling class. So to vote for corrupt , senile , creepy Joe Biden to save " OUR democracy " is to enter the political Theater of the Absurd. But to CANCEL Donald Trump is to cancel whatever is left of bourgeois democracy in the United States.
