My friend Bill Briden will recall one Raymond Earl Lumpkins , house mate on Wesleyan Ave, Providence back in the early 70s. The reason for the " strictly private " funeral was that poor Ray drowned himself one day in the Providence River-perhaps in despair over untreatable cancer. We loved Ray !
