Brown University is not " progressive " enough to tell the people of Rhode Island that FOR PROFIT health care is the root of all health care scandals in the nation's hospitals and nursing homes. It is also outrageous that FOR PROFIT hospitals and nursing homes should demand higher and higher MEDICARE and MEDICAID payments. And morally insane for any licensed physicians and dentists to refuse MEDICARE and MEDICAID patients. The health care of American citizens should not be BIG BUSINESS at all ! All the nightmares of the COVID-19 pandemic era are connected to rotten, corrupt capitalism , to FOR PROFIT health care system. We can only wish that our doctors ( " SEE YOUR DOCTOR! " says every quack remedy TV drug commercial ) were as competent and compassionate as they are arrogant .
