I am not a big fan of horror writer Stephen King . But he is just my age and so many of his stories - with allusions to the 1950s and 1960s and 1970s - hit home with me. What got me through two whole weeks of THE PANDEMIC, April 2020, was reading his horror classic " The Stand ". I had also re-read Albert Camus " The Plague " and " Journal of the Plague Year " by Daniel Defoe . Strange how fiction and horror stories are a better guide to MORAL LIVING than stuffy PSYCHOLOGY OF ADJUSTMENT articles in popular magazines. You can at least ACT as if a GOD ALMIGHTY was going to judge you as GOOD or EVIL ( or just rotten ) in the afterlife. A " leap of FAITH ", the French philosopher Pascal would call it .
