Everywhere in capitalist countries the police are just what Lenin said they are in STATE and REVOLUTION. Everywhere they serve the country's ruling class. Everywhere they are the pitbulls of private property and class privilege. Everywhere THE LAW reflects the will of the ruling class. Its will is only moderately checked by bourgeois democracy. It is very naive to think that the police are there to PROTECT THE PEOPLE. In a Democratic Socialist society the people will learn how to self -police.
