Madeline Labriola: Where is the outcry against having nuclear weapons?
 

As a democratic socialist I commend this Pax Christi international Catholic peace movement and Madeline Labriola's letter to the editor here. " The Arrogance of Power " blinds the American ruling class and its political voices in the Democratic and Republican parties from seeing the hypocrisy of wanting a super power monopoly on nuclear weapons. I am particularly ashamed of " progressive " Democrats who have not one anti-war voice among them. Their New McCarthyism, Hate Russia campaign seems determined to fan the flames of a nuclear conflagration with Russia . In denouncing an act of individual terrorism recently they sounded as if they were bunch of A.J. Muste pacifists. They have no problem even with atomic bomb violence if it serves the American Empire.
We need a revival of the 60s BAN THE BOMB movement in which British philosopher Bertrand Russell played a prominent role.« less
