The WOKE Democrat opposition to having armed police officers at CCRI and RIC is based on the BIG LIE that American cops have a racist anti-Black, White Supremacist agenda . This is racial politics at its most pernicious. Democratic socialists do not over-vilify American police officers on the job on or off college campuses. We just point out that in CAPITALIST USA the cops -above all - protect the economic basis of the capitalist system - the PRIVATE PROPERTY of the rich. Organized workers on strike often see the true face of " Officer Friendly ". Without doing a thing for poor and working class Black people in the USA , the WOKE " progressive " Democrats simply pander to petty bourgeois , social climbing Blacks , and the morally challenged Hollywood crowd , They cling to IDENTITY POLITICS with crackpot fanaticism. Which creates race division and race hatred . As for the evil of HATE and hate crimes, this can never be preached away by the unctuous political sermons of Democratic Party hacks . HATE is forever in capitalist HELL . It cannot rise above everyday EXPLOITATION and OPPRESSION . As Malcolm X said : " Show me a capitalist and I will show you a blood sucker ! " Democratic socialism cannot offer utopia to this sad planet . But it can offer an enlightened , rational , humane and just WORLD government. In the USA we can begin with an American Labor Party - like the British Labor Party but less compromised and a lot bolder.
