Dark Clouds Over The Head of Those Of Us Over Age 75 ?

This is much ado about nothing . Once there were popular advice columnists in every major American newspaper who would warn their readers of AGE milestones in LIFE. But it is highly SEXIST just to say -with no context - when women are in their prime . And if you are not a major league baseball player or professional football player or a heavy weight boxer , how relevant is being over 40 for males ? Other careers are more subtle on age . I recall popular science writer Isaac Asimov writing that if a scientist has not made his mark by age 35 , he probably never will. I can't say when Asimov peaked as a writer. He was just as lucid at age 70 ( he died a little later ) as he was at age 35. But it is only a SCIENTIFIC attitude to respect the warnings of statistics. The Bible got human longevity right many centuries ago( three score and ten ) . As a 75 year old longtime independent socialist I certainly understand the younger -more vital - generations - that are growing impatient with ossified but still powerful politicians that cling to power . in 1960 42 year old presidential candidate John F. Kennedy was a breath of fresh air. Not only was he good looking ; he even read and wrote books. Old China had great respect for old people. I learned this in Lin Yutang's book titled " The Importance of Living ". Sad to say there are ominous signs of growing contempt for the aged in " OUR democracy ". On the radio a while back I heard a macabre suggestion about what to do with people over age 75. Even retired Catholic cardinals and bishops ? We might need their prayers.
