The brutality of professional football

I learn from " Medical Examiner -Dr. G " ,on TRUE CRIME / NETWORK, that so many things can go wrong even in healthy young bodies. But professional football is a very brutal sport . A fan of the New England Patriots , I see too many players flat down in pain after a rough tackle . No wonder local hospitals near the stadium are on EMERGENCY alert during these exciting ( often with the blood excitement of real WAR ) televised to millions of viewers , professional and college football games. But like the adored gladiators in ancient Rome our football heroes can get quickly rich . In early middle age they will deal with brain injuries and broken arthritic bodies. And not trained for anything else .
