Krypton-36 , lead -82 ( protons )

The editor of the New York Times is ignorant
of elementary school science. Judging from a
June 10 article ( Nuclear chemists report surprising
creation of two new elements ), the editor last
glanced at the famous Periodic Table in the college
   sophomore year :

" ... using krypton containing 86 protons to
bombard lead atoms with 208 protons. "

Consult the table. Krypton has 36 protons; lead 82.
