Modern China -like modern USA - is based on science and technology and an immense amount of human mental and physical labor power . So it is hardly a moral abomination that THEY ( hardly real communists ! ) want what our American plutocracy wants. Top American plutocrat Donald Trump very bluntly told the warmonger , embezzler V. Zelensky in " sovereign " Ukraine that he wants their minerals , a big share of them. This is IMPERIALISM speaking not the " FREE WORLD " ! What has amazed we democratic socialists for more than a century is how the exploited and oppressed working class - the younger ones of the different countries -- can be so easily recruited to " make the world safe for democracy " , can be made cannon fodder for the sacrosanct nation-state. For years now the WOKE WARRIOR Democratic Party has promoted the HATE RUSSIA , New McCarthyism . Perhaps the MAGA Republicans are more eager to start nuclear World War III with China ( a modern " Yellow Peril " ? ) than with POST-COMMUNIST Russia. Still I am reasonably sure that the American working class -still mostly CHRISTIAN - will not be easily aroused to war fever in the 21st century by stale Wilsonian blather that was false more than a century ago . The mainstream news media in " OUR democracy " must have been very embarrassed by Election 2024 with its rebuke of WOKE if not WAR. So the propaganda apparatus of American imperialism does not yet rival Big Brother's regime in George Orwell's nightmare dystopian novel " 1984 ". So there remains considerable HOPE FOR PEACE . Unless ALL the peaceniks and their propaganda are vaporized .
