The former Trotskyist Hitchens might have considered that the biggest mistake of the old Soviet Union was not SOCIALISM - it was making itself an " officially atheist " tyranny. American author Gore Vidal had no use for Christopher Hitchens ( even after Hitchens proudly discovered that his grandmother was Jewish ( ? ) .
