I understand the Russian Orthodox Church is influential in both Russia and Ukraine

We have not heard much about " working class solidarity " , about the aroused " workers of the world " as force for social sanity and social justice for more than a century ! But I am unaware of ANY Marxist " vanguard party " that is not a joke , that has any potential for leading a mass movement against global capitalism dominated by American imperialism . A significant number of neurotic Jews in " Marxist " organizations are no doubt crypto- ZIONISTS. The SOCIALIST movement should make an open appeal to MILLIONS of Catholics , for example, who take both the New Testament preaching and traditional Catholic social philosophy seriously . Forget about any future " OFFICIALLY ATHEIST " Stalinist nightmare state. We democratic socialists certainly need a spiritual bridge to the masses. Whatever is true in dialectical materialism and Engel's excellent book " Dialectics of Nature " is mostly for academic oriented nerds . And it can never arouse any mass passions for social justice.
