Interesting article . As a voting citizen of the United States I see the crisis here as a profound crisis of ” democracy “.
The very concept of majority rule is anathema to the flunkies of the plutocracy. The Democratic Party has betrayed the New Deal principles of Franklin D. Roosevelt : the idea of a ” helping hand ” for the poor and the working class , a check on unacceptable economic inequality.
As a democratic socialist I see no ” American exceptionalism ” to the decay of capitalism “. Another Great Recession and World War III are becoming more and more probable.
If the working class fails to take power, a new moral and intellectual elite will be compelled to take command of a social order in chaos.
But I suspect the universe is finished with homo sapiens – one more failed species. LIFE goes on elsewhere. God reappears somewhere.So does Satan.
