Inspired from youth by Albert Camus' sense of the Absurd, I try to be a voice for REASON in the growing darkness and moral insanity of global capitalism .

College used to be affordable. What happened? w/Ellen Schrecker | The Ch...[ CIVILIZATION and DEMOCRACY needs working people - not a class of parasites - to survive ]
Karl Marx pointed out many years ago that " the ruling ideas are the ideas of the ruling class " . They established " public education " in " OUR democracy " to the extent that it was needed to run their factories more efficiently during the century of the Industrial Revolution. But " higher education ", meant to teach also "critical thinking " skills, was always intended for the upper class and a " professional " middle class. In the late 20th century and in the first quarter of the 21st century the American ruling class dreads a " middle class " being infected with ideas inimical to Capitalism , American imperialism ,and Israeli Zionism . Since AI has achieved spectacular success in replacing even skilled workers, the ruling class now sees even the higher TRAINING as disposable .
The SYSTEM now demands only millions of stupefied drudges , the capitalist rulers feeling secure in thinking that PRIVILEGE alone will suffice to prevent the more prosperous middle class from asking dangerous questions. But intensified OPPRESSION cannot contain the smoldering rage of the working class and lower middle class.
Of course, it should be rather obvious that an economic system that does not need the working class does not NEED an exploiting capitalist class. But CIVILIZATION and DEMOCRACY needs working people- not a class of parasites- to survive !
