" A call to support Question 5 " [ My comment below ]

LETTERS A call to support Question 5 Posted Wednesday, October 29, 2014 11:56 am To the Editor: On Election Day, Rhode Islanders will be asked to vote on Question 5, which would authorize a $35 million bond to support our states local arts community, and help continue to fund the successful State Preservation Grant program. I am writing to urge my fellow Cranston residents to vote yes. I’m an actress and producer, and my husband is a graphic designer with clients in the arts and historic communities, so this bond may potentially affect our future livelihood. But it will also directly impact the futures of many of your Cranston friends and neighbors. [ Rae, I am registered voter in Cranston. I will most certainly vote YES on QUESTION FIVE . My brother is also a graphic designer and has done wonderful work on my social activist blog ( http://radicalrons.blogspot.com/) What is $35 million compared to all the money people foolishly gamble away? I refuse to vote for any casino gambling here in Rhode Island. I am convinced that gambling and our state lottery- which radio and TV news celebrities are always pimping- are really just a tax on the vast class of desperate and uneducated poor people. What is $35 million compared to the super-costly -and foolish- WAR ON DRUGS ? What is $35 million compared to the cost of ALL our foolish military adventures ? I would gladly vote you many millions more ! Ron Ruggieri, Cranston From: A call to support Question 5 ]
