There does seem to be a certain dualism between mind and matter.You can not see ME inside my brain.You cannot see Spinoza's God in Nature.The absence of evidence is no evidence of ABSENCE. From the very beginning Science had to deal with invisible FORCE,so many varieties of it. It still cannot dismiss vis viva and the LIFE FORCE.Wonderful discovery DNA but it was not the SECRET OF LIFE.
