It is rather naive to think that having an New Atheist type " epiphany " early in life ,or rather late in life, will guide your thinking on the burning moral issues of our time : like the EVIL of global capitalism, American imperialism, and Israeli Zionism. None of THIS evil is being directed or inspired by any organized religion. Islamic " extremism " in Iran is conditioned by years of imperialist subjugation ( ending in 1979 with the overthrow of the Shah of Iran, a tool of the American CIA from the beginning. ) . The last time I checked the much maligned Catholic Church was very much involved in promoting WORLD PEACE , preventing nuclear World War III with POST-COMMUNIST Russia and Islamic Iran ( and pseudo- communist China ) . The biggest mistake of the old Soviet Union was not that crude and grotesque attempt at SOCIALISM. It was making itself a dreary " officially atheist " tyranny. As a longtime independent democratic socialist ( and pre-Vatican II type " Old Catholic " ) I see the WOKE WARRIOR Democratic Party which never stops bashing Catholicism and Christianity in general as a form of STALINISM USA, minus any pretense at " socialism " ". Hawkish Zionist Jew insiders in the Democratic Party , in fact, think that socialism is anti-Semitic !
