I did stick on that " I voted " patch this morning after I left the Cranston polling center on Atwood Ave. near Nino's Pizza. On my bright red sweater that patch might have been misleading. As a long time independent democratic socialist I nevertheless voted straight Republican in local elections wherever there was a contest. My thinking was that the greater evil in Rhode Island is a Democratic Party which has succeeded in making this a virtual one party state comparable ,on a much lesser scale , to the old Soviet Union of the Stalinist era. And the tyranny of WOKE ideology has its roots ( where else ? ) in the pseudo- liberal Democratic Party. In fact ,for decades now it comes close to an ideological reign of terror against traditional Catholics and Protestants. But for president of the United States I voted for a ghost and took phone camera proof of it : " EUGENE V. DEBS " who ran as SOCIALIST candidate five times: 1900, 1904, 1908, 1912 ( when he got 6.0 percent of the vote ) 1920 ( this last time from a prison cell ) . Debs protested American entrance into the First World War , " the war to make the world safe for democracy " . NOTE : For Mayor of Cranston ( I will forward the ballot photo to 630 WPRO ) I voted for " Rhode Island's Anchorman " Gene Valicenti , who promised all his radio listeners that they " will never hear from ' Ridiculous Ron " again . You must respect public figures who keep their word !
