As a longtime independent democratic socialist I know that there is no RATIONAL reason - apart from the insane norms of American capitalism- why kids in Providence , Rhode Island cannot have the same quality of public school education as kids in more affluent Barrington , Rhode Island . Being a forever ( ? ) BLUE state does not really make much difference here for working class people. And for the same reason : " Why can't WE get the homeless people off the streets ? " . Necessary " harmful cuts " when the news reports all time stock market highs ! WHO must sacrifice ?
