Local voters reflect on Harris loss, women in politics

Nobody in my extended family was upset by the MAGA-Republican Donald Trump's rout of the Kamala Harris -Joe Biden WOKE WARRIOR Democratic Party. Clearly, the sun is setting on this moribund party and its permanently discredited main stream news media. Were even their polls a lie ? I myself , a long time independent democratic socialist , entered on the Rhode Island ballot in Cranston, Rhode Island a write-in vote for the ghost of Eugene V. Debs. Then - in an act of seemingly daffy political weirdness -I voted straight REPUBLICAN for local races and YES to all funding bills. I just happen to think that the Democratic Party in Rhode Island is hopelessly corrupted by unchecked power in a way comparable to the grotesque ONE PARTY SYSTEM in the old Stalinist Soviet Union ( not quite DEMOCRATIC socialist ! ) . Sad that that the once distinguished major Rhode Island newspaper , the Providence Journal , has become so insignificant , lacking a " soul " ( former editor Robert Whitcomb's comment ) VOICE in Rhode State affairs ( not even an insignificant VOICE as they no longer publish editorials and rarely letters-to-the editor ) . Years ago on line COMMENTS were abolished, as encouraged by that champion of FREE SPEECH , " Rhode Island's Anchorman " Gene Valicenti. So the state's Republicans have an ironic " friend " in " Ridiculous Ron " ( On air @ 630 WPRO Genial Gene promised his devoted " seagulls " that they would never hear from THAT guy again . " Adrift in the ocean " , he must sleep with fishes now ? But he was spotted outside " Wise Guys " on Atwells Ave, Federal Hill not far from Holy Ghost Church and the tenement house where " THE FAMILY " had lived for 50 years ( check the 1939 Providence Directory ) .
